Terms & Privacy
How STAMPR works, what we collect, and your rights as a customer and partner.
Effective 8 May 2026
Plain-English summary
STAMPR is a free digital coffee loyalty card used at participating Canberra cafes. We collect the minimum information needed to run your card, your stamps, and your account, and we keep it secure. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data at any time. These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory.
These terms (the "Terms") apply when you use the STAMPR website at stampr.com.au (the "Site"), the STAMPR digital loyalty card and any related services we offer (together, the "Service"). STAMPR is operated from the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. About STAMPR
STAMPR is a universal digital coffee loyalty platform. We provide customers with a digital pass that records visits to participating partner cafes (each a "Partner Cafe"). When you collect the required number of stamps you may redeem a free coffee at any Partner Cafe, subject to these Terms and the Partner Cafe’s own conditions of sale.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create a STAMPR account. If you are under 18 you confirm that a parent or guardian has consented to your use of the Service. STAMPR Business accounts may only be created on behalf of an organisation by someone authorised to bind that organisation.
3. Your STAMPR account
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details and your digital pass secure. Treat your pass like cash — do not share it with anyone.
- The information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date. You must tell us if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
- We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe is being misused, has provided false information, or has been used to defraud STAMPR or a Partner Cafe.
4. Stamps, rewards and redemptions
- A stamp may only be issued by an authorised Partner Cafe at the time of a qualifying purchase. Stamps have no monetary value, cannot be sold or transferred, and are not redeemable for cash.
- The number of stamps required for a free coffee, what counts as a qualifying purchase, and any exclusions are determined by STAMPR and may change. We will publish material changes on the Site before they take effect.
- Free coffees may be subject to availability and to the menu and hours of the Partner Cafe at which you redeem. STAMPR is not responsible for the quality of any product or service supplied by a Partner Cafe.
- Stamps obtained in error, by fraud, or otherwise outside these Terms may be removed without notice.
5. Partner Cafes and third-party content
Partner Cafes are independent businesses. The Service includes information about Partner Cafes (including names, addresses, descriptions and brand images) supplied by those cafes. STAMPR does not warrant the accuracy of that information and is not the seller of any product or service offered by a Partner Cafe.
6. STAMPR Business
STAMPR Business is an enterprise offering for organisations that wish to provide STAMPR coffee benefits to their staff. Use of STAMPR Business is subject to a separate written or electronic agreement entered into between STAMPR and the organisation. These Terms apply to staff using a STAMPR Business pass in addition to any agreement between the organisation and STAMPR.
7. Fees
STAMPR is free for individual coffee customers. Charges may apply to Partner Cafes and STAMPR Business customers under the relevant commercial agreement. All amounts are in Australian Dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise.
8. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that infringes another person’s rights;
- attempt to obtain stamps or rewards through automated means, fraud, or by misrepresenting a transaction;
- copy, scrape, or republish material from the Site beyond what is expressly permitted by these Terms;
- attempt to interfere with the security, integrity or availability of the Service.
9. Intellectual property
The STAMPR name, logo, Site design, software and content are owned by STAMPR or its licensors and are protected by Australian and international intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Site for your personal (or your organisation’s internal) use of the Service.
Partner Cafes retain ownership of their own brand assets and grant STAMPR a licence to display those assets in the Service for the purpose of operating the loyalty program.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, STAMPR excludes all implied warranties and is not liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss, including loss of stamps, loss of data, or loss of profits.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, our total liability to you for any claim is limited at our option to resupplying the relevant part of the Service or re-crediting any affected stamps.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify STAMPR and its officers, employees and contractors against any loss, damage, claim or expense arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service.
12. Termination
You may close your STAMPR account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. On termination, any unused stamps will be cancelled.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when we do, and material changes will be highlighted on the Site. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory. You and STAMPR submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the ACT, Australia, in respect of any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service.
Privacy notice
STAMPR is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This privacy notice explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights in relation to that information.
15. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the loyalty program and to support our partners. The categories below cover everything we currently collect:
- Account details: first and last name, email address, date of birth, a hashed (one-way) version of your password, and your account role (customer, partner staff, or business user).
- Loyalty activity: the Partner Cafes you visit, the date and time of each scan, the stamp counts before and after a scan, and the date and time of each redemption.
- Optional location data: when you allow it, the approximate location at which a stamp is recorded, used to detect fraudulent or out-of-range scans.
- Wallet pass identifiers: the unique identifiers issued to your digital wallet pass, used to update the stamp count on your device.
- Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, language, and approximate timestamps. We use a small number of cookies and local-storage values (for example, your session token and theme preference) to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences.
- Communications: the contents of any enquiry you send through the Site (for example via the partner cafe or STAMPR Business enquiry forms) and any support request you raise with us.
- Partner Cafe information: business name, address, contact details, opening information, brand assets and the staff accounts a Partner Cafe registers with us.
- STAMPR Business information: the business name, primary contact, billing details and the staff entitled to use a STAMPR Business pass.
We do not collect government identifiers, payment-card numbers (we use a third-party payment processor for any STAMPR Business charges), or sensitive information.
16. How we use your information
- To operate your STAMPR pass and loyalty account.
- To validate stamps and redemptions at Partner Cafes and to prevent fraud.
- To provide insights and reports to Partner Cafes and STAMPR Business customers in aggregated or anonymised form. Where a Partner Cafe sees individual scan history, it is limited to the activity at that cafe.
- To improve the Site and Service, debug issues and develop new features.
- To send you transactional messages (for example, to verify your account or reset your password). We will only send marketing communications with your consent and you can opt out at any time.
- To comply with legal obligations and to enforce these Terms.
17. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only with the following types of recipients, and only as needed to run the Service:
- Partner Cafes— the minimum information needed to identify your pass and to record stamps and redemptions made at that cafe.
- Digital wallet providers— for the purpose of issuing and updating digital wallet passes on your device.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers— the cloud hosting, database, and file-storage services we use to run the Service and to store partner brand assets.
- Mapping and address services— to convert cafe addresses into map coordinates.
- Email service providers— for transactional emails such as password resets.
- Payment processors— for any STAMPR Business billing.
- Professional advisers and authorities— if required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of STAMPR, our customers, or the public.
Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information to a standard equivalent to the Australian Privacy Principles.
18. How we store and secure your information
We hold your information in cloud-hosted databases protected by access controls, encryption in transit, and hashed passwords. Access to personal information inside STAMPR is limited to staff who need it to operate the Service. We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, unless we are required to keep it longer for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
19. Your privacy rights
You can ask us to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
- delete your account and the personal information associated with it, subject to any legal obligation we have to retain it;
- opt out of marketing communications;
- raise a privacy concern. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
20. Cookies and local storage
The Site uses essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, to remember your theme preference, and to keep forms working as you move between pages. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
